Re: Newbie to kn rangeHi and welcome to the site, I hope you will find some useful tips and tricks. Are you looking to use the KN1500 for recording and midi ?. I noted you were thinking of retrobrighting the keys a couple of things to be aware of. Firstly the keys for the 1500 series are no longer obtainable and as I suspect from your comment your keys have gone yellow/yellowish. I have a large number of KN models and my son had a KN1500 which got damaged during a house move, so I had a chance to experiment with the broken key sets. The yellowing does not respond to bleach even when soaked in strong bleach for over a month, a little success was obtained by using Duraglit but the discolouring seems to go right through the plastic that was used. I would advise a good careful clean to remove surface dirt and grime and enjoy the ivory look.
