Hi Mike. I wonder if you can recommend a software for 'mixing' my tracks and for converting them to MP3. Just as a matter of interest I noticed that in TELL ME WHEN my customised sound (tibia/glock tk 12) did not convert. Is this because I didn't have the memory button lit when I saved the file or did it just get lost in the translation? Ta.

Re: software wanted

Hi Mel,

I record using the Audio Recorder for KN7000 via USB because it is preconfigured to be right for the keyboard. Then I do any conversions using Audacity. It is free and allows you to easily chop off any silence etc as well as titling the recording when you save and compressing to mp3 etc. Mp3 files don't sound quite as good as wav but they are needed for reduced size and browser compatibility on the websites... so if you're making CDs use WAVs.

I didn't realise you had used any Sound Edits so that is my fault. When we do a performance save the KN7000 saves a few (usually) un-needed files, I try to remove what is not needed to save space and potential confusion. I didn't notice any Sound Edits so I removed the .TM files. I'll add those back and re-record as soon as I get chance (later this week I expect), thanks for letting me know!

Best wishes,
Mike

Re: software wanted

I see this software says for Windows 8.1. I'm not that up to date, Mike! I only have Windows 7. Will it still work? Doh!!

Re: software wanted

Hi Mel,

You want the top link on the following page. Supports Windows XP onwards:

Audacity

I find the easiest way is to open the software and drop the wav file into the main window. Select any areas of silence (just click and drag) then press delete. Then save as the format you want.

Best wishes,
Mike

PS week off between jobs this week grin

Re: software wanted

I now have Audacity installed....easy peasy! I was actually more concerned with installing the Audio Recorder gubbins. I was planning to download from the site rather than digging around in the cupboard for the original disks but I have flashbacks of trying unsuccessfully to connect my PC to the KN7.Will it work with Windows 7 do you think? Glad you're making good use of your holiday by the way!

Re: software wanted

Hi Mel,

Grab the software from here:

KN7000 Software

And follow the instructions here:

Installing KN7000 Software

The instructions are virtually the same for Windows 7 and it will run fine. Don't concern too much about the section on MIDI Latency, that is more about playing virtual instruments on your PC so gets more technical. See how it goes first.

Cheers,
Mike
