Hi , the power cable you are after if often known by the name "Figure of Eight" connector cable, Any good electrical retailer should be able to supply, for a few dollars.Sorry to see you selling your Technics, will we be seeing you back here with more fantastic Technics gear ? be sad to lose you.

Re: Looking for AX5 Power Cord

John,

Thanks so much for the expedient reply! smiling

To be quite honest, I'm not complete sure if I want to sell it. The main concern is the size/weight of the unit, and I haven't very much room in my office area to record. As an alternative, I've been examining the Korg Microkorg as a replacement. It seems to have a far smaller footprint, and from my preliminary testing, the AX5 hasn't yet yielded any sound I've wanted. Perhaps more testing is required.

Although I realize this forum sings the praises of Technics the world-over, do you have experience working with other synthesizers and in what configurations have you tested them? Perhaps you are less of a synth-guy so, my question may be a bit off-base. Just looking to see what other opinions are on the matter.

Thanks
Jax

Oh synths! So many different types and sounds with so many different techniques used to create them.

You probably need to try a few and define more what you are looking for. The AX5 is fine but as it was made so long ago if you are searching for a modern sound set then you may have problems finding it on this instrument. That's not to say it is a dated sound, there are many on the market out there that are far more antique but still fetch ridiculous prices.

Might be an idea to define a sound or a style of playing or a particular piece of music. I get to see all sorts here in the workshop. Some are just plain outdated others real players would bite your hand off to get one!

Regards

Dave
