I have a PX336 that has been a wonderful piano for 15 years, but suddenly the sound stopped. It still turns on, all lights go on, but no sound. I had a digital piano repair guy come and he replaced a $2 resistor (?), that lasted for about one song after he left, and same thing. He said if it went out again it might be the amplifier, so not much I can do since these are no longer made.

So, does that sound right to anyone here who has more knowledge on these than me?

And, if so, how does one get rid of a rather large electronic instrument? I live in CA in the bay area. Not sure if electronic recycling places take things this large, just hate the idea of taking it to a landfill.

Thanks for any help or ideas.

Re: PX336 - power but no sound?

I have a similar problem with my digital piano (PX55) where the red light is on when the power supply is switched on. However there is no sound at all heard when I depress any of the keys. I reside in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia and I'm hoping that there was a technician that could help me repair this digital piano so that I could give it to a deserving student in need of a keyboard.
