I will have to change all my white keys on my kn2600
Can you tell me how to open the cover Under the kn2600

Hi, Firstly why are you looking to change your keys? secondly, There are no known supplies of keys to fit the KN2400 or KN2600 as like the older cousins the KN920 and KN1500 the keys are not single keys but are made up from a 3 piece set of mouldings, two white and one black. As far as I am aware from talking to parts suppliers that these keys are only going to come from salvage scrap instruments. These key sets also suffer from yellowing which can become mild to very dirty yellow and they do not respond to bleach or other whitening type products including expensive smokers abrasive pasts and powders. ( I have tried on some broken keys from my son's KN1500)
Hope this helps, we have done some basic enquires as to the prospect of 3D printing but as the hinge/pivot is integral to the design so this is very much at stage one and will depend on cost and demand.

the keys are very yellow,ich (always in the sun)no smoker and there is a white key that was broken and
glue by the guy who sold me the kn2600
But my friend in Pennsylvania have purchase a kn2600 from Waterloo ONT. and the
sdcard was not working
So he bought another one in Florida that was perfect
My friend ,he is a technician ,and he will send me the keys
from the first kn2600 that the sdcard was not working
But the keys are white and not yellow ,ich
Thats why I am asking you my friends How can I open my kn2600 so I can change the keys by patch.
My KN2600 is on top my Audya5 So the comparation of the white
keys yellow and white I have a hard time to accept the comparation.Althought my kn2600 is working very good
I am suppose to receive the keys next week

Hello, You can search for the Technics KN2600 Service Manual on google.

The webpage will take a little while to load and very nearly at the bottom look for this text
"This file is downloadable free of charge: Get Manual"
and click on "Get manual".
It will download as a rar file which is a compressed format. In chapter 7.1 "Opening the Cabinet" it will show the underneath and the position of 24 screws to carefully take out. After that it's straight forward but take care to keep the two halves at 90 degrees because there is a ribbon cable connection.
After that in chapter 7.6 "Removing the keyboard unit" you will see a diagram showing how the keys come off as a set. The whole keyboard consists of 5 such sets which you can replace in one go. (Advisory: Please read up on anti static precautions on google to make sure you follow the care needed when repairing electronic equipment).

Hi Yatawal and John ,With your help ,everything is in control
I just change all the keys (5 sets) Now the keys are whiter like the original
All the keys came from one of my friend in Pennsylvania because the one that he bought in Waterloo Ontario was no good
After he bought anotherone in Florida and it was in good shape
So he send me all the keys from the first one that he bought
Today with the service manual kn2600 it went perfect
I appreciated your help

Howard, That is fantastic news, I am so glad you did not have any problems, as I said we are looking to see if the keysets could be reproduced as by the number of requests for replacement keys either because they have broken or they have gone very yellow is now getting large.
