I have downloaded some kn5000 styles from a website. On using the load custom I select one of the files but nothing loads into the custom styles. Am I doing this right?

I know the site well.
Provided you've selected an archive that is compatible with your keyboard and extracted the files from the archive correctly they should load fine on your keyboard.

I extracted them but nothing appears in the custom style banks.

Are you putting all the files from an archive onto a floppy? And do you see some CMP files on it? CMP are the Composer files that contain the actual file patterns.
(there are no Custom files on that site that i know of, you're looking for CMP files and using the normal Load functions)

Have a look at pages 23 and 24 in the KN5000 manual.
Procedure for loading files from my websites is the same. There aren't any KN5000 Custom files on here as yet either (need some volunteers to make some as I don't have a KN5000  )

On most Technics Keyboards you place the files on a floppy and then you press and hold the Disk button. You'll then get a menu to choose which Style to load. Holds true for all the Technics keyboards I know of.

I've received your query by email but I'm answering you in the forum.
Composers Load into your Memory bank, not the Custom bank.
You can then transfer Styles from Memory to Custom if you want.

I have figured it out I think.
First I held down the load custom and selected the style to load.
Secondly I copied the style from the memory to one of the custom style banks.
