I know many of you that have had the keys broken ,damaged or just snapped off while moving your keyboard happen. I had that happen twice while loaning my
kn5000 and once on the kn6500 to my church where I go, no suggestions from Technics for replacement " there obsolete" . Well they are to Technics but not to
others in the industry. Companies like Roland, Yamaha ,Hammond, Korg and others dont make their own key beds. It turns out they are make outside for them, even Technics (I could never understand why Technics wouldnt release the information on where they are made or who makes them for them) the short of the story is the
keys on my kn5000 were broken off and I was able to find a alternate source for he keys "Off the shelf and not a fortune in gold to buy from someone" The same keys used on the kn5000, kn6000, kn6500 and the kn7000 are same ones used on Korgs m3-61 key, Kronos-61 key (these are a style k57w with weights that can be removed
real easy. Another source was from Hammond,it turns out they use the same keys without weights on their "XB2,XB, XC3 and XC keyboards" style k57u off the shelf.
Sources: Ebay for korg or hammond parts, Part is Parts for Korg m3 keys and Hammond for the models I listed and Syntaur on the web. So dont throw that keyboard away yet .I hope this helps everyone out there with key replacement problems. Cheers Sky5031
