I need some help learning how to load a floppy diskette with new styles on my KN6500 keyboard. I downloaded some styles and entered the diskette into my keyboard. I pressed the "LOAD" button and then highlighted the style I wanted to load. I pressed "LOAD" again to load that style. I get the rhythm loaded OK but only the rhythm. I normally use the "Music Style Arranger" and the four "Variations & MSA" sounds. All i get is the rhythms. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

There is a second page when you get to the final 'load' which determines what gets loaded and what doesn't. That is assuming that what you have on the floppy disk is more than just the rhythm.

Many thanks for the quick feedback! I had missed the downloads that included the second load file. What prompted my inquiry was an ad on the website ---www.planetkeyboad.com offering something called "Gigastylecollection" downloads containing over 9,000 Technics styles. I am worried that the collection only contains rhythms and no instrumental sounds.I am trying to get in touch with the site to question them about their "gigastylecollection." So, you do a normal load of the first file, the "cmp" file< and then follow with the "pmt" file?

Hi again. I've never bothered with those gigastyles as they are almost certainly not song specific which is where I'm going.
Providing you have downloaded all the files for each style to a floppy disk, they are all each then ready to load into your keyboard together one style at a time including both the cmp and the pmt file in each case....but you must check page 2 of the load instruction on your keyboard to make sure that all are ticked.

I have downloaded the "styles_series_y2_KN6000" styles and have been able to easily load, eg. a bachata rhythm. What I am having a problem with is loading the accompanying "PMT" file. When I load Page 2, I am loading "Panel Memory" and "Composer." What is it with Page 3?

Ignore page 3 for the time being. Now on page 2 of the loading process make sure you say yes to all the options and therefore load everything that is available.

Re: Loading style disk on a KN6500

Many, many thanks for your feedback. This is a whole new world for me as I have been playing my Technics KN6500 for well over ten years only using the "Music Style Arranger" and the "Variation & MSA" settings. I found the Technics manual too challenging but maybe now I will give it another look. Maybe I will try to figure out now how to program "Performance Pads" and the sounds that come with the "styles_series_y2_KN6000." Is this where I would use "Page 3" in the "Load" function?

Hi again. There is a whole world out there on the Internet of song specific rhythms - called style files - for all makes of keyboards. There is software which converts perfect rhythms for particular songs from say Korg to Technics. There are web sites where people have posted their a song specific rhythms... Yes there's a lot more to be discovered that's for sure.
