Hi Mike,
Can you please help me, I am having problems with my Style works XT Universal. I can hear anything. a windows pops out saying that no midi device is installed. How do I install a midi device. I have 2 software installed on my computer one is the MIDI-OX and the other is the midi player.I have tried to play any midi file through this softwares and they say the same thing that no midi port is open.Do I need to uninstall this softwares?
When I go to MIDI settings to choose GS itwon't let me choose it is stuck.

Hi Bufalo,

What version of Windows are you using?

Did it work correctly before?

Are you trying to use Windows for playback of MIDI or your keyboard?

If you're using your keyboard, what MIDI interface are you using?

I am using windows 8.1
Yes it worked correctly before.
I am using windows for playback of MIDI

Many MIDI programs will only run if they have exclusive use of the device.

If you don't run your midi player or midi-ox then Styleworks should let you select the Windows GS synth. If one of them is running it could conflict with Styleworks.

Try that. If it doesn't work try running the Vista Midi Tool
