Re: Technics EX60

Hi Alan,

COMPLETELY DISCONNECT YOUR ORGAN FROM ANY POWER BEFORE YOU DO THIS AND ONLY DO IT IF YOU ABSOLUTELY KNOW YOU ARE SAFE!

I have an EX30 and have had problems getting the bass pedals working in the past. I've uploaded two pictures attached to this message. This is complete guesswork but I expect that your pedals are connected similarly to mine. Possibly the connectors are more hidden away on your organ than on mine. Many of the Technics Organs split into two parts or fold down, you'll have to take a good look.

In the photos attached you can see my bass connector cable. To get mine working I had to clean all of the contacts in the cable and in the organ. I used a very, very small screwdriver to clean them and it took quite a while. Sometimes I have to move the connector around a bit to get them to work, when it gets in just the right position they work. Either all the pedals work or none work.

I hope this helps you. That's a very nice organ you have there. I played one for many years for cabaret in a residency, when they were new.

Do you have the optional disk drive?

Best wishes,
Mike

Re: Technics EX60

I'm glad that worked for you!

The slot is for a Memory Pack. You can record on the EX60 as you probably know. The Memory Pack lets you store your performances. It's probably difficult to get one now. You can also get a Floppy Drive which can store performances in the same way.

Information about them is in the latter part of the manual.

EX60 also has MIDI terminals so connecting it to a computer is also an option. It's not General Midi compatible but you should be able to record, edit and re-play your performances using a computer with a bit of research.
