U50 - all E and B Flat keys/pedals have stopped working

All of the E and B Flat keys and pedals have suddenly stopped working on my Technics U50. Has anyone had this before or be able to suggest what might be the cause? Thank you.

Re: U50 - all E and B Flat keys/pedals have stopped working

The U50 is a bit of a beast when it goes wrong. I have scrapped many of them along with the later models with similar internal design as they have so many issues once opened that they are not really a cost effective repair. The keyboards and rhythm and auto chord circuit boards as well as the front panel controls all sit on a common bus cable. This means that if any of the switches are faulty anywhere on the front panel then this may well confuse the electronics enough to stop the keyboard scanning and to work correctly and thus the notes don't work. If you have any switches that are failing or anywhere on the control interfaces where all the switches for the different sounds and rhythms are set then this is more likely to be the place to look for the problem. Look for buttons held down as prime candidates.

Hope this helps. By all means come back to me.
